
Jennifer Jefferson, EdD has experience as a longtime college administrator, English and education
faculty member, writing center director, and manuscript/book editor. She most recently served as the Dean of Academic
Affairs/Chief Academic Officer for Central Maine Community College, and prior to that as the Interim Vice President
of Academic Affairs for Manchester Community College (NH), where she led the faculty through the first
challenging year of COVID. A published writer and editor, she has worked on numerous NECHE
accreditation reports and helped hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students with a wide range
of professional writing goals, including dissertations. She has sat on both sides of the interview
table and brings significant expertise as an academic hiring manager. For her dissertation, she
interviewed women college presidents about their career paths. Her expertise lies in the areas of
higher education career paths, academic affairs management, academic student support, gender diversity,
writing, and editing. She is highly skilled in APA, MLA, and adapting documents to different style
guides. Jennifer currently works as a doctoral faculty member for Endicott College and as an
undergraduate faculty member for Central Maine Community College, and she runs her own editing
and consulting business based in the Portland, Maine region.
Jennifer holds an EdD in Educational Leadership in Higher Education from Endicott College, an MA in
English (Rhetoric and Composition) from Northeastern University, and a BA in English Literature from
Hamilton College.
